We learned a lot about castle defense from this Tower House. There were holes through the stone walls everywhere to allow for a bow and arrow to protect the inhabitants. It also had a murder hole, which is a slot above the entry door. Someone comes in who's not welcomed and bam, they get it from the second floor. It makes our security systems look quite tame.
Really enjoyed going here.
