Monday: last fun day in Ireland

D & and I have had so many wonderful times. We've laughed a lot, spoken of some very serious things and generally enjoyed each other's presence. I thank God for his gracious love and mercy.
Yesterday we doubled-back to Kylemoor Abbey. A beautiful church--beautifully made, but full of the presence of God. I wonder so much if we don't, in our American churches, focus so much on proficiency that we miss the sacredness and wonder of God. There was space to pause and be still--it was magical.
Then, and THEN, we went rock climbing. Up a rock Dylan said we must go, so I followed him. It wasn't a straight rock or I would want a rope, but a nice big rock with a nice little incline. But we crossed Irish land that we felt no American had--thus, life was adventurous and good.
We drove back through the town of Leenane and were amazed at the number of people. Turns out we were in the middle of an Irish funeral. I'm guessing that those closest to the deceased went to the pub in the village. We ventured less than a quarter mile away to the Clarriagh Pub where those less familiar went. Had a really nice, hard-earned cup of tea and scones.
Then we traveled to Westport, without hitting any of the many sheep grazing on the road's edge and visited for a time. Then off to the airport. We missed Vinnie the Avis guy as it was really late, but we have not forgotten him!
We love Ireland and have decided to ask Dean to move the entire family here--with all our friends coming with us, of course.
Our love to all.
